Why do I need FTP?
FTP stands for File Transfer Protocol, which is a way to transfer files from one computer or server onto another. The primary benefit of using FTP is that it’s a secure way to send large files.
You can do so without worrying about outside parties intercepting your content. This is especially important if you’re sending sensitive information, such as contract proposals or invoices.
Because it’s encrypted, FTP should always be used when sending any type of file over an unsecured connection—such as email, for example. Before long, you’ll find yourself using it all the time because it allows you to quickly add images and other multimedia content to your website or sales funnel without having to manually upload each individual file.
How to use it?
FTP software is a critical part of any web marketer’s toolkit. It provides fast and simple access to files that reside on a remote server.
If you use Photoshop, Illustrator, or other creative software on a regular basis, there’s really no excuse not to learn how to use it.
In addition, some sites allow you unlimited storage, making it an easy (and free) way for bloggers to back up their files for extra protection.
You can also set up FTP so that you can directly upload photos from your camera or computer as part of your posting process, saving time and money from having to purchase new images every time you need one for your post.
Why you should use it with Adobe Stock
There are lots of resources out there that can help you use FTP to push images into your site or branding, but oftentimes they focus on how to upload a graphic you already have.
What if you want a custom graphic? While there are many ways you can get graphics, working with a designer isn’t always feasible—especially if you’re just starting out.
This is where the stock comes in. You can search for images that fit your brand, like color schemes or graphics, and then hire someone else to customize it for you based on your needs.
This gives you an image that fits seamlessly into your company culture without taking away from your time or budget.
